Julia and George and sun-drenched South Pacific beaches—what more do you need? How about having them incessantly snipe at each other, because they’re a decades-divorced couple who can’t stand to be in the same room, much less be forced to join forces to talk some sense into their daughter? Turns out young Lily (Kaitlyn Dever) has fallen for a Balinese local and wants to leave her career as an L.A. lawyer far behind. Co-written and directed by Ol Parker (‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’), this frothy and fun rom-com of errors is a solid, pleasant diversion, thanks in large part to the chemistry and charisma of the two stars at its center.
