If you can adjust to the stilted, hipster-iffic dialogue, there’s a lot to like in the latest from writer-director Noah Baumbach. Starring Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig and based on the acclaimed 1985 novel by Don DeLillo, it’s an esoteric mash-up of genres (sci-fi, comedy, romance, drama), punctuated with biting satire on everything from fidelity to pharmaceuticals to consumerism. It’s a heady trip, to be sure, but Baumbach’s unique voice makes it a trip worth taking.
