Following in the footsteps of the Oceans flicks and The Italian Job(s), The Vault tries hard to be an edge-of-your-seat nailbiter about a group of decent folks trying to take back what’s rightfully theirs by breaking into “the most secure vault in the world”. Unfortunately, plot holes, trite coincidences, and a barrage of blasé performances (from Freddie Highmore, Sam Riley, and Liam Cunningham, among others) dilute this one almost from the get-go.
