One of the most original and well-directed true crime documentaries in years, the story of the murder of four young Burger Chef workers in 1978 Indiana plays out like a feature film, punctuated by traces of Errol Morris’ equally captivating ‘The Thin Blue Line’ tossed in for good measure. Still unsolved (though the filmmakers certainly have their opinion), the case is presented as a series of theories with actors portraying the victims and offering up their own commentary right along with the real-life witnesses and other key players. High praise to Australian filmmakers Luke Rynderman and Adam Kamien for bringing the fascinating story to a whole new set of eyes in a way that won’t soon be forgotten.
