A wild and wonderful avant-garde musical starring Marion Cotillard and Adam Driver, this thing is a head trip and a half. With music by Sparks and direction by Leos Carax, it would never be a run-of-the-mill movie anyway, but Annette takes you to places you’ve never been, and you’ll have a heck of a time on the ride. Though the ending drags on a little more than it needs to, the performances and art direction help make this an overall success.
