Lana Condor and Cole Sprouse star in this cute, amiable sci-fi rom-com from newbie writer Max Taxe. Set 30 years in the future, it finds Sprouse as Walt, a lowly college barista who dreams of joining the new Mars settlement but can’t make the intellectual cut. Condor, meanwhile, is the super-smart and driven student who inadvertently inspires him to stow away on the next mission. At its core, it’s a typical oil-and-water comedy, but both Sprouse and Condor elevate it somewhat with their effortless performances. It’s not wholly memorable, to be sure, but there is a myriad of worse ways to spend 100 minutes.
