Playing a little like Reece Witherspon’s ‘Wild’ for the Hallmark Channel crowd, this light and frothy ensemble rom-com stars Ellie Kemper as a recent divorcee who decides to hike her issues away with a motley crew of fellow lost souls, including ‘Yellowstone’ star Luke Grimes. Yes, she gets blisters on day one, but she also, naturally, winds up finding herself along the trail. Sure, there are more tropes at play than there are chats around a campfire (which are plentiful), but the pleasant script and Kemper’s infectious personality help keep things strolling along. It’s a sweet and gentle bit of female-forward fun—if nothing else, a decent kickoff for a solid girls’ night.
