The latest interchangeable Liam Neeson action extravaganza finds our hero in a very ‘Speed’-like situation after he gets a phone call that a bomb has been planted in his car, and that it’ll go off unless he keeps driving, and (gasp!) his kids are along for the ride! Sounds like a tense enough premise, sure, but for the ensuing 85 minutes, not a whole lot actually happens. Director Nimród Antal does his best to keep the ship tight, but in addition to the lack of action, there are so many gaping plot holes and moments of utter ridiculousness that even Neeson’s commitment and charisma aren’t enough to save this one.
