Denzel Washington is back as Robert McCall, the Jason Bourne-like one-man killing machine in the third (and last?) installment of director Antoine Fuqua’s franchise. Oddly enough, the installments keep getting better with each outing, culminating with this Italy-set adventure, where McCall takes it upon himself to save a small coastal village from the local, bloodlusty crime family. Denzel has rarely been better, taking his time in each scene time to let the moment breathe, while at the same time unleashing all kinds of hell, early and often. It’s a bloody, brutal, and completely wild and captivating ride.
