Almost thirty years after ‘Free as a Bird’ and ‘Real Love’ hit our ears as the ‘last’ Beatles songs, fans of the Fab Four are given one final treat. This short documentary details the fascinating production process that started with a tinny cassette tape of John at a piano and winds up as a slickly produced earworm that fits nicely in the Beatles catalogue. Supplemented with interviews of Paul and Ringo, there’s surely enough here for the film to almost be a full-length feature, but as it is, it still serves as one last pithy goodbye from the band.
