Is the Lohan-aissance a thing? The former Hollywood darling-turned-pariah follows up 2022’s ‘meh’ Netflix flick ‘Falling for Christmas’ with this more admirable effort about a young book editor who makes a wish to marry the author she’s fallen for (and who is, sigh, engaged to one of her best friends). There’s nothing terribly unique going on here, and, sure, it’s a largely paint-by-numbers Hallmark-y bit of fluff, but Lohan easily reminds us of her past talents and lifts the film into ‘charming-ish’ territory. And as it turns out, that’s enough to make this kinda worth its breezy 90 minutes.
