Liam Neeson has made a nice little living in recent years doing crappy-to-middling flicks about a haggard hero out to kill the bad guys in whatever situation he finds himself in. His latest, set in 1970s Ireland, finds him staring down the barrel of a gun when IRA terrorists come to his small town to lay low after they carry out a car bombing. Co-starring Kerry Condon, Ciarán Hinds, and Colm Meaney, it’s actually one of the better of its ilk – dark and brooding and a perfect fit for Neeson, who finally gets a character he can sink his teeth into. 3.5/5 stars
