Think ‘Legally Blonde’ but with astronauts, and you’d be in the right ballpark. Emma Roberts stars as Rex, a wild-n-crazy Florida bartender (with her head in the stars) who fudges her way to astronaut candidate school at the Johnson Space Center. The humor is as broad as the Milky Way, and the plot is fairly well-telegraphed from before even the opening credits, but Roberts’ charm does help carry this thing along… somewhat. It’s goofy and silly but generally likeable. It won’t have the staying power of Witherspoon’s classic, but as a free offering on Prime, well – no harm, no foul.
