Despite looking like a sixth-grade school project made on a VHS camcorder, this love letter to 1985’s ‘Clue’ still manages to offer plenty of insight into the making of (and legacy of) the cult-classic film. Featuring interviews with writer/director Jonathan Lynn, along with stars Michael McKean, Lesley Ann Warren, and Colleen Camp (plus much of the crew and a bevy of fans), there’s plenty here for lovers of the film to enjoy, including rare archival footage and even a few things that merit a ‘Huh, didn’t know that!’ or two. Sure, the doc may have benefitted from being in the hands of a more professional filmmaker, but director Jeff C. Smith’s low-rent approach actually fits more with the vibe of the little movie that could.
