This wrenching 18-minute film by photographer (and first-time director) Misan Harriman is a true testament to the power of ‘less is more’. David Oyelowo stars as a ride-share driver coping with a sudden and tragic loss. It’s sparse, haunting, and powerful—a brilliant debut for Harriman, who proves he’s just as adept at moving images as still photographs. Oyelowo gives his all in a blink of a role, cramming more emotion and pathos into a few moments than many actors do in three-hour-long dramas.
