Native American filmmaker Erica Tremblay, making her feature debut, taps into the heart and soul of life on the reservation for this film about the search for answers when a Seneca-Cayuga woman mysteriously disappears. Lily Gladstone, fresh off her Oscar nom for ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, may just one-up herself in this outing, giving a heartbreaking and wildly powerful performance as the sister of the missing woman. Not only is she consumed with finding the truth, she’s also left to take care of her niece (a phenomenal Isabel DeRoy-Olson), who is desperately hoping her mom returns in time to take her to the upcoming tribal powwow. It’s a real and honest telling of a raw and brutal story. 4.5/5 stars
