As hipster and indie as they come, this efficient (82 minutes) film, shot during the height of the pandemic lockdown in Los Angeles, feels less like a cohesive movie than it does a series of excuses for filmmaker Zoe Lister-Jones to feature her buddies (Fred Armisen, Nick Kroll, Olivia Wilde) in a parade of twee cameos. It certainly offers a unique take on the apocalypse, and the eclectic cast seems up for the job, but it’s hard to escape the feeling that this thing was just tossed together on a slow Tuesday afternoon.
