Kenneth Branagh’s second turn as Agatha Christie’s famed detective (and second time directing himself as Poirot) finds him floating down the river trying to solve the murder of a rich heiress (Gal Gadot). There’s no shortage of scenery and other prettiness to stare at, but translating Christie’s work to the screen has often proved difficult, and ‘Nile’ is no exception. As with 2017’s ‘Murder on the Orient Express’, it never gets enough steam going to make the journey a success.
