Fans of ‘Friday the 13th’, ‘Halloween’, and any other 80s slasher classic will feel right at home taking in this low-budget oh-so-Indie winner from writer-director Erik Bloomquist. Set on the last day of summer camp in 1987 (because of course it is), the film is a perfect homage to the way horror used to be. When the camp counselors accidentally (but not really) summon an evil spirit, all hell breaks loose, and the blood gets to splattering. Cara Buono (‘Stranger Things’) stars in and produced this unheard-of gem that could have easily clunked as loudly as a machete dropped on a cabin floor, but Bloomquist’s script stays on track, and the cast all buys into the madness.
