On the surface, it’s a fizzy little young-adult rom-com about an American girl (Haley Lu Richardson) and a British boy (Ben Hardy), who meet cute on a transatlantic flight and then spend the film trying to get back in touch once they land and get separated. Beneath everything, though, it’s a clever, witty, and uber-sweet film that goes much deeper than you’d think. Damn, if you don’t find yourself rooting for these kids with everything you have. First-time feature director Vanessa Caswell proves herself right out of the gate with a film that I’m sure will unfortunately go (criminally) unnoticed.
