Investigating the 2017 disappearance (and suspected murder) of a man and his dog from an 11-person town in the far reaches of Northern Territory, Australia, this documentary will suck you in from the start and just gets crazier from there. First-time filmmaker Thomas Tancred has taken what’s already a fascinating and trippy story and crafted a brilliant film around it, letting it unfold in front of our eyes like some kind of dark and twisted whack-a-doo campfire yarn. It’s exquisitely put together with a cast of characters that could have very well leaped off the pages of a Hunter S. Thompson novel. Crazy, crazy stuff.
