Zoë Chao and Anthony Mackie star in this twee indie about two astronauts who have been stranded on a spaceship for three years and now find themselves debating whether they should have sex with each other. (Pros and cons abound.) It plays a little like a light and fluffy version of 2016’s ‘Passengers’, with first-time feature director Kristian Mercado ensuring we take the whole thing with tongue planted firmly in cheek. (Exterior shots are of a cardboard spaceship flying among paper mache planets.) The more it progresses, the more charming it becomes, as Mackie and Chao play off each other superbly, keeping us entirely invested in their conundrum and its ultimately satisfying resolution.
