Written and directed by actor Keir O’Donnell (helming his first feature), this kinda-romantic, kinda-dramatic heist flick finds small-town loser Baron (Joe Keery) recounting his recent life story to his new cellmate after getting nabbed for robbing a bank. It turns out that everything went south almost immediately after he met a young woman named Marmalade (Camila Morrone). There are plenty of twists and turns along the way that keep the film interesting, and it gives off a fairly solid ‘True Romance’ vibe, which never hurts. Credit also goes to Keery and Morrone, whose chemistry is more than enough to propel the film. As a quirky little Indie feature, it’s a surprisingly fun trip.
