Based loosely on the true story of the 1988 heist of the First National Bank of Chicago, this wholly forgettable film had plenty of promise to be sure, but a weak, pedestrian script dooms it pretty much from the get-go. Courtney B. Vance stars as the ringleader, who recruits four young bank workers to use their insider position to help him funnel millions to a bank in Geneva. The characters never get the development they need, though, and the build-up takes far too long, only to be followed by an ending that seems tacked on as an afterthought. It’s mercifully short (84 minutes), but even that can’t make it worth a recommendation.
